Lost in Time on a Saturday afternoon

It rained all Day so there was nothing to do but Sleep in late and spend the rest of the day Shopping... So after Target, Costco, Macy*s and a ridiculously late lunch we popped over to Lost in Time Antiques to wander through the isles there...

Here is my favorite Vendor at Lost in Time - She has the most Exciting kitchen stuff!
Of course, she's off her Rocker in terms of some of her Prices, but she always brings in
things that are in Perfect condition that I don't see every day. To see what I mean, enlarge
(click on) this photo and just check out the Rooster toaster cozy sitting there on the
white shelf on the left side, under the Carolina Panthers flag. How retro-Chic is that!?
Funny how we always Recognize things from our Past in these places.
I like to call Antique shops Museums for the Things I threw Away
A few weeks ago I picked up this Bromwell's Sifter from this vendor. Of course,
I didn't really want to give her $30 for it but after looking them up on e-Bay
and finding nothing like it in such Perfect condition I went back for it. I think
it Looks great next to my Jadite cake stand in the Kitchen cabinet!
This is another Favorite vendor - they always have such Great seasonal decor
Vintage Easter and Halloween goodies in the Case
Most of the Vendors at Lost in Time do a nice job of Creating
atmosphere with their Offerings - Look at this Inviting little table!
How cute is this Pink canister set? And, what about that funky Cake carrier!
As soon as you Walk in the door there's fun Stuff to see!
Such as this vintage Cheese cutter! How I'd love to have a huge Country
kitchen with a big, fat Butcher's island to put this on... However, absent
the huge Country kitchen, and at $365 I decided to Pass on it today!
Old French flower wagon
I brought home this Monk cookie jar. After learning from our Bank this morning
that William used his dad's ATM card yesterday to withdraw Cash I thought
this was Something we need Staring at him from the kitchen Every day!
And, I picked up this Tom's roasted peanut jar - Wonderhubby found a set of
Old Ironside bookends and some (more) books to add to his Collection. Of course,
the Fun in this is all about the Hunt for stuff you didn't even Know you needed

Lunch with an Associate Justice - check!

Dad just called... He wanted to know if I was interested in Sandra Day O'Connor's book, The Majesty of Law, because they just had lunch together and she offered him a copy. These are, of course, only Things I can hear from my dad!

Seems that Mrs. O'Connor is one of the Authors at this year's Carmel Authors and Ideas Festival that my dad helps to Coordinate and make happen. To learn more about the Festival and to see the list of Authors attending this year, go here.

Dad said he stayed pretty Quiet when the conversation turned to Politics over lunch because he's already Stirring things up there in the parking lot with the, "Thank you President Bush" and McCain bumper stickers I sent for his truck... CA is liberal-Land, this we all know; but Carmel-by-the-Sea, well it's on a Level all its own!

Any way, dad said that although he knows (the Great) President Reagan nominated Justice O'Connor to the Supreme Court, she's a little too Liberal for him to engage in a Political discussion with so he just Nodded his head politely, and Steered toward other topics. Nevertheless, dad said she's a very Lovely woman and looks Terrific for her almost eighty years. I told dad that he could Accept her Book for me. After all, if she's willing to dedicate a copy to Me I'll read it. Some day... Perhaps during my Retirement years. Ha! I'm a bit of a book snob and prefer Hardcover books over paperbacks so I was disappointed to hear that all they have at the Festival for authors to Sign is paperbacks. Perhaps paperback books are Greener?

I told dad he can now Check having Lunch with an Associate Justice off his To-do list... Dad said he wished he was a Dolphins fan because he ran into Don Shula earlier. I told him to Call me back if Jerry Jones or a Cowboy shows up.

My dad... Busy running the Carmel Author's Festival and just generally doing his Thing on a Friday afternoon!

Bye-bye Summer!

It feels like just yesterday that This was my View...
But alas, Fall has arrived and another great Season of Fun in the Sun has come to an end. So
I came home from Shopping this afternoon to find that he Winterized the Pool and put it
to bed. Closing the pool always makes me Feel like a little kid whose had her Favorite toy snatched
Away by a Big bully; and, in this case, his name is, Winter. Fortunately, the man I Adore knows this
about Me so he also prepped the Jacuzzi to give me something to Look forward to about the Cooler
weather. And, I do enjoy sitting with him in the Spa under the stars.  Especially when it's Snowing!
Fall Lovely
The trees are Beginning to turn
I found this Great flag to Welcome fall at Salem Creek this morning
And, this Terrific garland and how about these Cute message balls?
Frank and his Honey are out of the Closet!
Dracula too...
I'm done Decorating for Halloween... Promise!
I decided to Bring a little Fall into the den with me today
I think I'll leave this on the Mantle until Thanksgiving
I love the way the Two garlands I picked out Compliment each other
Perfect!
Speaking of Purr-fect - It's been a while Since you've seen my Bing!

Enough to keep Jamie on the mountain and to Win a $100 gas card for Me!
How would you Like to play this game?
I'm glad I was chosen to play Cliffhangers because This game
looks like it might have been a Career limiting move...
Over in the R&D tent we got to see What basecamp for Jamie might look like...
I thought the Snow machine they had Cranking away was a nice touch!
See the Snow blowing against the Trees?
You probably already know that in the early morning on May 29, 1953, Sir Edmund Hillary
of New Zealand and his guide, Tenzing Norgay, became the first climbers ever to reach
the summit of Mt. Everest, the world’s highest spot, calculated to rise 29,035 feet
to the summit. But did you know that Sir Edmund Hillary was wearing Duofold?
Well, he was and so will Jamie Clarke when Hanesbrands sponsors his next
Mt. Everest climb, which is scheduled for This time Next year!
These are some of the Garments being Developed for
and tested by Jamie and his Team. If Duofold can keep Jamie
warm at 29,000 feet, Imagine what Duofold can do for You!
I love the Yak in his Boots!
Rock climbing
Jamie signing Photos and copies of his Book, Above all Else
I asked Jamie to sign a Photo to Brandon... Maybe it
will Inspire him to Great heights! Hey... I can dream, can't I?
Did I mention that Hanesbrands Rocks? Well, it does... and We do!
